Meet the Founders
We met at the The Wharton School in Philadelphia, where, in between classes, we managed to travel around the globe, idealistically contemplate world-changing ideas and become close friends.
Warby Parker was born out of our collective personal traits: a penchant for outrageous outfits, an affinity for vintage collectibles and a strong desire to make the world a better place. We have tried to reflect this spirit in our eyewear—bringing unique, vintage-inspired designs to you at a reasonable price—all the while, providing a pair to someone in need with every pair sold.
Warby Parker was born out of our collective personal traits...
Neil Blumenthal
As the former director of non-profit VisionSpring, Neil spent the better part of 5 years giving glasses to people living on less than $4 per day who otherwise would not be able to see. A native of New York City, Neil is a Leo, enjoys long walks in the park, and is a big Hall and Oates fan.
Andrew Hunt
Andy has studied eyewear design in more than 40 countries. Rumors that he conceived the idea for Warby Parker while fasting at a temple in the jungle city of Angkor Wat are only somewhat misleading. After working in finance and healthcare, Andy was convinced that there had to be a way to deliver top-quality eyewear for less.
Jeffrey Raider
A spiritual leader of Warby Parker, and our class at Wharton, Jeff has a penchant for bringing people together — at times over an adult beverage. A glasses wearer for life, we think Jeff wanted to start Warby Parker because he couldn’t find any frames on the market that fit his slightly quirky yet impeccable taste.
David Gilboa
Like a Viking from his Swedish homeland, Dave spends his free time seeking adventure. His two most recent conquests include trekking across Antarctica and becoming the fastest person to ever run a marathon in a flamingo costume. He aspires to one day summit Everest while wearing his trusty monocle.
