Oval face

Oval faces are the easiest shape to shop for, due to their balanced proportions. The chin is slightly narrower than the forehead, and typically high cheekbones. What does this mean in terms of finding the right pair of frames? Good news—just about any pair will work, so make sure you pick a pair that matches your personal style.

Round Face

A round face is one where the width and length of the face are nearly the same, with soft angles. The best types of frames are geometric or rectangular to help sharpen the angles and add definition to the face. Try frames that are wider than they are tall, with strongly-defined, square lines. The angles created by these types of glasses will contrast nicely with the round features on the face.

Square Face

On a square face the forehead, cheeks and jawline have strong, well-defined angles. A rounded or oval frame works best to balance sharp angles. Among those frames, select narrower ones to make a square face look longer and to soften the angles further.

Heart Shaped Face

A heart shaped face has a wide/broad forehead and narrower jaw line and chin. This face shape is a bit more difficult to find a perfect fit for, but the ideal frames help minimize the width of the face. It is best to avoid wide frames that mimic a heart shape.
